Seven Common Mistakes

  1. Purchasing above the predominant market value in a complex.  Overpaying for a home.
  2. Purchasing a home within a poorly managed complex.
  3. Trying to negotiate without proper representation.  Most builders/sellers protect their interests with their agent!
  4. Failure to compare with other communities, even though other homes may not be available.
  5. Being taken advantage of by the seller during the mortgage process and/or the Real Estate Contract process.
  6. Buying within a complex that has a weak homeowners association and/or inadequate financial reserves.
  7. Buying in a community with a predominance of renters when making purchase for sole reason of residence.
